Introduction
A mushroom comes from the fungi family.
Description
Mushrooms look like umbrellas. They can smell pretty yuk sometimes.
Location
They live in all sorts of countries. They live on land.
Behaviour
Mushrooms just sit in the ground. Mushrooms never move. The cap keeps the gills protected from the rain. Mushrooms eat off other plants. Some fungi can live for a hundred years.
Life Cycle
The mycelium grows into a button mushroom. Then the cap breaks away from the stalk and it becomes a flat mushroom.

Mushrooms come from the fungi family and mainly live up to a year.
A mushroom can be as big as a marble and as big as a box. Mushrooms grow in forests, fields, grass, telephone books and compost. They grow on land.
Some mushrooms are edible, others are poisonous. There are many different kinds of mushroom...tree fungi, button mushroom, flat mushroom, the sikener, oyster mushroom, honey mushroom, common field mushroom, boletes, fly agaric, entola.
WALLABIES By M (7 years old)
A wallaby is a marsupial.
It looks like a little kangaroo. It has got soft brown fur. How it gets along is it jumps. It looks very funny.
It lives in Australia. It is not native to New Zealand.
It eats fruit and vegetables. if they have babies, the babies go in the pouch. They don't make noises. they are silent except for the bouncing noise.
You can tame them. They are so tame that you can touch them.

DOLPHINSBy M (7 years old)
Dolphins are mammals.
They've got two pointy fins and a slippery back with a tail that's short at the end. They have a hole upon their head so they can breathe.
Dolphins live in the sea.
Dolphins can jump high and turn around in the area. Dolphins can sing. They swim under the water and open their eyes under the water as well. They can jump through a hoop when people hold it.
HORSES

Horses are animals.
Horses have four legs and hair in their mane.
They live in paddocks or a stable.
Horses chase people in paddocks and neigh when you ride them. Horses can buck.
