Poetry on the topic: Disasters

In the pitch of darkness
On the coldest night of all
It started with the gentle howling
Noise of a hundred spooky ghosts

But then as it got later
And it got colder
The sound of gentle ghosts
Turned into the screams of a million
Screeching monkeys

I lay in my bed scrunched up so tight
Too frightened to relax
I couldn't and wouldn't dare
To peek and see the destruction
Happening before me

As I felt the freezing breeze
Beneath, lift me up, I screamed
And screamed but it was no use
My voice could not drift
The wind kept swishing it away

Faster and faster
Higher and higher
I feel colder and colder
My face gets pale and slowly
My vision gets weaker until
Blank. I black out

Clothes are flying in the air
The wind is blowing through my hair
Our old tree is falling apart
Branches flying like paper darts
The old tree is coming out of the ground
Ouch! My ears! The crunching sound!
This is scary I'm going inside
I'm going to hide
It's hard to walk on moving floor
Oh man!  There goes the door!

Well it started raining
It wouldn't stop raining
So I cried like it was raining
That didn't help, it was already raining

The next day it was flooding
It wouldn't stop flooding
So I cried like I was flooding
That didn't help, it was already flooding

I saw a cow go swimming
He wouldn't stop swimming
So I cried while I was swimming
That didn't help, I was scared swimming
